History

Researchers have hypothesised that the mosque was constructed by Islam Khan I during his term as the Mughal Subahdar of Bengal which lasted between 1608 and 1613. Many villages in the area are named after the governor.{{cite news |script-title=bn:সংস্কারের অভাবে হরিয়ে যাচ্ছে ইসলাম গাঁতির পুরাতন ঐতিহ্য মসজিদ মটের বেহাল অবস্হা |url=https://dailyshowadesherkhobor24.com/2020/11/28/%e0%a6%b8%e0%a6%82%e0%a6%b8%e0%a7%8d%e0%a6%95%e0%a6%be%e0%a6%b0%e0%a7%87%e0%a6%b0-%e0%a6%85%e0%a6%ad%e0%a6%be%e0%a6%ac%e0%a7%87-%e0%a6%b9%e0%a6%b0%e0%a6%bf%e0%a7%9f%e0%a7%87-%e0%a6%af%e0%a6%be/ |work=Daily Showa Desher Khobor 24 |author=Jabbar, Abdul |language=bn |trans-title=Islam Ganti's old historic mosque's losing itself due to lack of renovation |date=2020-11-28 |access-date= }}
