The Islamic State – Turkey Province (IS–TP; {{langx|ar|الدولة الإسلامية – ولاية تركيا}}; {{langx|tr|İslam Devleti – Türkiye Vilayeti}}) is a branch of the Islamic State (IS), active in Turkey. The group was formed on 10 July 2019. IS-TP is far less active than other established Islamic State provinces, notably the Islamic State – West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Islamic State – Khorasan Province (ISIS–K).{{Cite web|url=https://www.thedefensepost.com/2019/07/11/islamic-state-turkey-province-bayah-video/|title=Islamic State Turkey province video claims new wilayah in old turf|first=Robert|last=Postings|date=11 July 2019|website=The Defense Post|accessdate=13 May 2024}}
History
The group was never as active as other Islamic State factions. All previous Islamic State attacks in Turkey were committed by the Dokumacılar, an unofficial cell of the Islamic State – Kurdistan Province.{{Cite news|url=https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-38490543|title=Turkey nightclub shooting: Who were the victims?|work=BBC News |date=2 January 2017|accessdate=13 May 2024}}{{Cite news|url=https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jul/20/explosion-hits-turkish-town-near-syrian-border|title='Isis suicide bomber' strikes Turkish border town as Syrian war spills over|first1=Kareem|last1=Shaheen|first2=Constanze|last2=Letsch|date=20 July 2015|accessdate=13 May 2024|newspaper=The Guardian}}
The Turkey Province is not based on the borders of the Republic of Turkey, as the Islamic State views those borders as unnatural and made by disbelievers. The Turkey Province includes only the Turkish regions of Anatolia, while the Laz regions of the Black Sea are part of the Caucasus Province, the Arab regions of Hatay, Kilis, and Urfa are part of the Levant (Sham) Province, and the Kurdish regions are part of the Kurdistan Province.{{Cite web |title=فيديو: أقسام "دولة البغدادي" التي أعلن عنها "داعش" |url=https://alfajertv.com/news/1656204.html |access-date=2024-06-22 |website=تلفزيون الفجر |language=ar}}
