Israel–Portugal relations

The Estado Novo did not recognize Israel, and only after the Portuguese revolution of 1974 did Portugal recognize Israel and establish a relationship.{{Cite web|url=http://unispal.un.org/unispal.nsf/9a798adbf322aff38525617b006d88d7/8fd7c0ac39ddf76785256fdb0067cacc?OpenDocument|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20140222213706/http://unispal.un.org/unispal.nsf/9a798adbf322aff38525617b006d88d7/8fd7c0ac39ddf76785256fdb0067cacc?OpenDocument|url-status=dead|archive-date=2014-02-22|title=A/32/151 of 20 July 1977: QUESTION OF PALESTINE: THE SITUATION IN THE MIDDLE EAST: Letter dated 18 July 1977 from the Permanent Representative of Portugal to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General|date=February 22, 2014}} Since 1991, Portugal has had an embassy in Tel Aviv.{{cite web|url= https://portaldiplomatico.mne.gov.pt/relacoesbilaterais/paises-geral/titulares/israel-titulares|title=Israel - Titulares|website=portaldiplomatico.mne.gov.pt|accessdate=5 February 2025}}
