Iván Carril Regueiro ({{IPA|es|iˈβaŋ kaˈril}}; born 13 February 1985 in Rebordaos, Santiago de Compostela, Galicia) is a Spanish football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. He is the current manager of CF Noia.

Football career

After a brief spell with FC Barcelona, Carril completed his football grooming at local giants Deportivo de La Coruña. He was mainly registered for several years with the club's B-side, but managed to appear in ten games with the first team, all in the 2005–06 season; his debut came on 28 August 2005 in a 0–1 away win against RCD Mallorca, his only start.{{cite news|url=http://hemeroteca.mundodeportivo.com/preview/2005/08/29/pagina-16/713208/pdf.html|title=El Deportivo se redime ganando en Son Moix|trans-title=Deportivo redeems itself winning in Son Moix|publisher=Mundo Deportivo|language=Spanish|date=29 August 2005|accessdate=20 January 2016}}[http://www.laopinioncoruna.es/deportes/2009/02/03/ivan-carril-futbol-raro-pierdo-esperanza/257561.html Iván Carril ´El fútbol es tan raro que yo no pierdo la esperanza por nada´ (Iván Carril ´Football is so strange that nothing brings me down´)]; La Opinión A Coruña, 3 February 2009 (in Spanish)

After several loans in the following years (two halves at UD Vecindario and CF Palencia), Carril was released by Depor in 2009 but stayed in Galicia, signing with lowly Pontevedra CF.[http://sanbreixo.wordpress.com/2009/08/21/ivan-carril-el-jugador-de-banda-que-habia-pedido-el-entrenador-ya-es-del-pontevedra/ Iván Carril, el jugador de banda que había pedido el entrenador, ya es del Pontevedra (Iván Carril, wing player that the manager requested, has joined Pontevedra)]; Peña San Breixo, 21 August 2009 (in Spanish) In summer 2010 he moved to Austria, going on to play three full Bundesliga campaigns with SV Ried; he spent the vast majority of 2012–13 nursing an Achilles tendon ailment,[http://pontevedraviva.com/deportes/1278/ivan-carril-volve-pontevedra-recuperar-mancados-tendons/?phpcan_action=favoritos Iván Carril vuelve a Pontevedra para recuperar sus lastimados tendones (Iván Carril returns to Pontevedra ro recover damaged tendons)]; Pontevedra Viva, 22 November 2012 (in Spanish) being released at its conclusion.

Personal life

Carril's older brother, Jonathan, was also a footballer. He played, amongst others, with the B-teams of Deportivo and Atlético Madrid.{{cite news|url=http://www.mundodeportivo.com/20141202/atletico-madrid/ivan-carril-el-trotamundos-que-gano-al-atletico_54420426468.html|title=Iván Carril, el trotamundos que ganó al Atlético|trans-title=Iván Carril, the globetrotter who defeated Atlético|publisher=Mundo Deportivo|language=Spanish|date=2 December 2014|accessdate=4 May 2016}}
