Club career

=Cerro Porteno=

Piris spent three years at Cerro Porteño, playing a particularly large role in the club's run to the semi-finals of the 2011 Copa Libertadores. He eventually signed for Brazilian club São Paulo FC for a fee of alleged €2 million.{{cite web|url=http://www.soccerfame.com/transfer/2216/ivan-piris|title=Ivan Piris transferred from Cerro Porteño to São Paulo for the sum of 2 million euros|website=soccerfame.com|access-date=3 August 2011|archive-date=22 August 2013|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20130822185151/http://www.soccerfame.com/transfer/2216/ivan-piris|url-status=dead}} São Paulo signed Piris on a two-year loan deal on 19 July 2011 from a proxy club Deportivo Maldonado.{{cite web|url=http://bid.cbf.com.br/index-print.aspx?txtdata=29/07/2011&selfederacao=SP&p=1 |archive-url=https://archive.today/20121231154349/http://bid.cbf.com.br/index-print.aspx?txtdata=29/07/2011&selfederacao=SP&p=1 |url-status=dead |archive-date=31 December 2012 |title=[CBF BID-E Record on 29 July 2012] |date=29 July 2012 |access-date=16 November 2012 |publisher=CBF |language=pt }}{{cite news|url=http://www.saopaulofc.net/noticias/noticias/futebol/2011/7/19/sao-paulo-acerta-com-ivan-piris/|title=São Paulo acerta com Iván Piris.
