JCAMP-DX are text-based file formats created by JCAMP for storing spectroscopic data. It started as a file format for Infrared spectroscopy.{{cite journal |last1=McDonald |first1=Robert S. |last2=Wilks |first2=Paul A. |title=JCAMP-DX: A Standard Form for Exchange of Infrared Spectra in Computer Readable Form |journal=Applied Spectroscopy |date=January 1988 |volume=42 |issue=1 |pages=151–162 |doi=10.1366/0003702884428734 |bibcode=1988ApSpe..42..151M |s2cid=97461751 |url=http://old.iupac.org/jcamp/protocols/dxir01.pdf}} It was later expanded to cover Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy,{{cite journal |last1=Davies |first1=Antony N. |last2=Lampen |first2=Peter |title=JCAMP-DX for NMR |journal=Applied Spectroscopy |date=August 1993 |volume=47 |issue=8 |pages=1093–1099 |doi=10.1366/0003702934067874 |bibcode=1993ApSpe..47.1093D |s2cid=95829936 |url=http://www.jcamp-dx.org/protocols/dxnmr01.pdf}} mass spectrometry,{{cite journal |last1=Lampen |first1=Peter |last2=Hillig |first2=Heinrich |last3=Davies |first3=Antony N. |last4=Linscheid |first4=Michael |title=JCAMP-DX for Mass Spectrometry |journal=Applied Spectroscopy |date=December 1994 |volume=48 |issue=12 |pages=1545–1552 |doi=10.1366/0003702944027840 |bibcode=1994ApSpe..48.1545L |s2cid=96773027 |url=http://www.jcamp-dx.org/protocols/dxms01.pdf}} electron magnetic resonance{{cite journal |last1=Baumbach |first1=Jörg Ingo |last2=Davies |first2=Antony N. |last3=Lampen |first3=Peter |last4=Schmidt |first4=Hartwig |title=JCAMP-DX.
