The JPM 03 Loiret is a French amateur-built aircraft that was designed by Jean-Pierre Marie and produced by Avions Jean-Pierre Marie (JPM) of Le Mesnil-Esnard. The aircraft is a development of the JPM 01 Médoc and is supplied as plans for amateur construction.Bayerl, Robby; Martin Berkemeier; et al: World Directory of Leisure Aviation 2011-12, page 105. The aircraft is named for the French community of Loiret.
Design and development
The Loiret features a cantilever low wing, a two-seats-in-side-by-side configuration enclosed cockpit under a bubble canopy, fixed tricycle landing gear with wheel pants and a single engine in tractor configuration.
The aircraft is made from wood with its flying surfaces covered in doped aircraft fabric. Its {{convert|7.72|m|ft|1|abbr=on}} span wing has an area of {{convert|8.49|m2|sqft|abbr=on}} and mounts flaps. The Loiret was designed specifically to use only the {{convert|85|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} Jabiru 2200 four-stroke powerplant.
The aircraft can be built with a single-piece wing or a three-piece folding wing. With the wings folded the resulting width is {{convert|2.36|m|ft|1|abbr=on}}, permitting ground transport or storage.{{cite web|url = http://jpm.lamaiziere.net/photos_site_jpm/loiret.pdf|title = Le JPM 03 " Loiret "|accessdate = 4 October 2012|last = JPM|date = n.d.|archive-date = 4 March 2016|archive-url = https://web.archive.org/web/20160304000416/http://jpm.lamaiziere.net/photos_site_jpm/loiret.pdf|url-status = dead}}
