Personal life

Roberts served in 53rd (Bolton) Field Regiment, Royal Artillery, during the Second World War.{{Cite web |title=Jackie Roberts |url=https://spartacus-educational.com/BOLTONroberts.htm |access-date=29 May 2019 |website=Spartacus Educational}} He was injured in the eye by shrapnel in Italy and was evacuated back to Britain.
