James Como

James Como (born 1946), professor emeritus of rhetoric and public communication, joined the faculty at York College of the City University of New York (CUNY), in Jamaica, Queens in 1968, where he founded the Speech Communication discipline (writing its curriculum and coordinating it for forty years), and was also chairman and Professor in the Department of Performing and Fine Arts.[https://www.jamescomo.com/teaching/ "Curriculum Vitae,"] James Como website, accessed 29 July 2023.

He has published in National Review, The New Criterion and in The Wilson Quarterly, among other venues, on subjects ranging from C. S. Lewis, to rhetorical theory, literature and Peruvian culture. In addition to his books on C. S. A founding member of the New York C. S. Lewis Society (1969), Como has served as an advisor and board member of a number of organizations and journals, both before and since his retirement.
