James Deeley (1871 – after 1895) was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League for Small Heath.{{cite book |last=Joyce |first=Michael |title=Football League Players' Records 1888 to 1939 |publisher=SoccerData |location=Nottingham |year=2004 |page=72 |isbn=978-1-899468-67-6}} Born in Evesham, Worcestershire, Deeley played for Worcester Rovers before joining Small Heath in August 1895.{{cite book |last=Matthews |first=Tony |title=Birmingham City: A Complete Record |year=1995 |publisher=Breedon Books |location=Derby |page=82 |isbn=978-1-85983-010-9}} An outside left, Deeley played only once for Small Heath, in the First Division on 6 April 1896, deputising for Tommy Hands in a game at West Bromwich Albion which finished goalless,Matthews, p. 143. before he returned to non-league football with Hereford Thistle. He died in Worcester.
