James Karanja Nyoro{{Cite news|url=https://hivisasa.com/posts/who-is-james-nyoro|title=Dr. James Karanja Nyoro History|work=HIVI SASA}} is an agricultural expert and economist trained at the University of Nairobi and London Wayne College. He went to Ngenia Boys High in Limuru. He became the third governor{{Cite news|url=https://kenyansonline.co/counties/kiambu/governor/|title=List of Kiambu County Governors|work=Kenyans Online}} of Kiambu County{{Cite news|url=https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2001358677/james-nyoro-sworn-in-as-kiambu-s-third-governor|title=James Nyoro sworn in as Kiambu's third governor|work=Standard Digital}} after the impeachment of Ferdinand Waititu A.K.A Baba Yao. He worked as Managing Director at the Rockefeller Foundation before venturing into politics. In 2013, Nyoro ventured into politics and unsuccessfully contested for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat when he lost to former Kiambu governor William Kabogo. In 2016, Nyoro was appointed as an advisor to the government on matters of Agriculture and Policy. He was attached to the Deputy President's office. In the run-up to the 2017 polls, Nyoro declared interest to unseat the former governor Kabogo.
