Jan Grot

Jan Grot (Grotowic) was bishop of Kraków from 1326 to 1347. Initially, he was a fierce opponent of King Casimir the Great, whom he excommunicated in 1334.{{cite book | author = Natalia Nowakowska | title = Church, State and Dynasty in Renaissance Poland | publisher = Ashgate Publishing | year = 2007 | isbn = 0-7546-5644-6 | page = 13}} However, they reconciled in 1343.{{citation needed|date=November 2009}}
