The Chilean group, Colectivo de Acciones de Art (CADA) served as inspiration as Toro created more anti-dictatorial work. Shortly after her return to Chile in 2014, she produced the work In Situ at the Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos in Santiago. This work addressed the loss of the Mapuche culture in contemporary Chile.{{Cite book|title=Radical women : Latin American art, 1960-1985|others=Fajardo-Hill, Cecilia,, Giunta, Andrea,, Alonso, Rodrigo,, Armand Hammer Museum of Art and Cultural Center,, Brooklyn Museum,, Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA (Project)|isbn=9783791356808|location=Los Angeles|oclc=982089637|year = 2017}}{{Cite web|url=https://hammer.ucla.edu/radical-women/artists/janet-toro/|title=Janet Toro {{!}} Radical Women digital archive|website=Hammer Museum|language=en|access-date=2019-03-22}}{{Cite web|url=https://www.biobiochile.cl/noticias/2015/09/29/indigenas-inmigracion-deuda-y-heridas-inspiran-performances-de-janet-toro.shtml|title=Indígenas, inmigración, deuda y heridas inspiran performances de Janet Toro|date=2015-09-29|website=BioBioChile - La Red de Prensa Más Grande de Chile|language=es|access-date=2019-03-22}}{{Cite web|url=http://hemisphericinstitute.org/excentrico/6020/janet-toro/|title=Janet Toro|website=hemisphericinstitute.org|access-date=2019-03-22|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190414125402/http://hemisphericinstitute.org/excentrico/6020/janet-toro/|archive-date=2019-04-14|url-status=dead}}
