Masters Athletics Career
At the European Masters Indoor Championships in March 2015, Carty won the gold medal in the 60m in the M45 category in a time of 7.24.{{cite news |title=Ros Tabor and Darren Scott among athletes to impress in Torun |url=https://athleticsweekly.com/featured/ros-tabor-and-darren-scott-among-athletes-to-impress-in-torun-20339/ |work=AW |date=29 March 2015}} Later in the year, after a successful British Masters Championships, Carty came second in the 100m at the World Masters Championships to Reggie Pendland of the US, just ahead of his British rival Darren Scott.{{cite news |title=Anthony Whiteman among World Masters winners in Lyon |url=https://athleticsweekly.com/event-news/anthony-whiteman-among-world-masters-winners-in-lyon-30621/ |work=AW |date=10 August 2015}}
In 2016, Carty was diagnosed with lung cancer.
