Career

=Varsity Rugby=

Fraser was a member of the {{Rut|Wits}} since it joined the newly formed second tier of the Varsity Rugby competition, the Varsity Shield, in 2011. In the inaugural season of the competition, Fraser helped Wits top the log after the group stage of the competition and also played in the final, where they lost 18–25 to {{Rut|CUT Ixias}}.{{SA Rugby Match Centre | id=20021 | homeid=8502 | awayid=8505 | leagueid=805 | hometeam=Wits | homescore=18 | awayscore=25 | awayteam=CUT | matchdate=4 April 2011 | date=27 July 2016}}

In the 2012 Varsity Shield competition, Fraser made eight starts and scored a try against {{Rut|UFH Blues}}{{SA Rugby Match Centre | id=102091 | homeid=10631 | awayid=10651 | leagueid=1081 | hometeam=Wits | homescore=58 | awayscore=16 | awayteam=UFH | matchdate=2 February 2012 | date=27 July 2016}} as the side finished in second place, but reversed the result of the previous season, beating {{Rut|CUT Ixias}} 19–17 to win the Varsity Shield competition and win promotion to the 2013 Varsity Cup. Fraser also linked up with the {{Rut|Golden Lions U21}} side, making one appearance for them in their 2012 Under-21 Provincial Championship match against {{Rut|Western Province U21}}.{{SA Rugby Match Centre | id=106291 | homeid=12091 | awayid=12101 | leagueid=1261 | hometeam=MTN Golden Lions | homescore=19 | awayscore=25 | awayteam=DHL Western Province | matchdate=14 July 2012 | date=27 July 2016}}

Despite a tough season in the 2013 Varsity Cup competition that saw Wits lose all seven of their matches, he made six appearances and scored two tries in their final match against {{Rut|UCT Ikey Tigers}} to help secure Wits a four-try bonus point, the only points they picked up during the campaign.{{SA Rugby Match Centre | id=101094 | homeid=10654 | awayid=10674 | leagueid=1084 | hometeam=FNB UCT | homescore=50 | awayscore=40 | awayteam=FNB Wits | matchdate=18 March 2013 | date=27 July 2016}} Their fortunes only marginally improved in the 2014 Varsity Cup, again finishing bottom and picking up just two losing bonus points. Fraser once again scored two tries – the second of those coming in a 15–18 defeat to {{Rut|Maties}}, Wits' narrowest defeat of the competition.{{SA Rugby Match Centre | id=117164 | homeid=17164 | awayid=17204 | leagueid=1694 | hometeam=FNB MATIES | homescore=18 | awayscore=15 | awayteam=FNB WITS | matchdate=24 February 2014 | date=27 July 2016}}

=Boland Cavaliers=

Fraser's performances didn't go unnoticed, however, and he signed for Wellington-based side {{Rut|Boland Cavaliers}} before their 2014 Currie Cup qualification campaign. He made his first class debut for Boland in their match against {{Rut|Griffons}} in Welkom in a 25–27 loss.{{SA Rugby Match Centre | id=119424 | homeid=18044 | awayid=18054 | leagueid=1774 | hometeam=Down Touch Griffons | homescore=27 | awayscore=25 | awayteam=Boland | matchdate=7 June 2014 | date=27 July 2016}} He made a further appearance from the bench against the {{Rut|SWD Eagles}}{{SA Rugby Match Centre | id=119504 | homeid=18054 | awayid=18034 | leagueid=1774 | hometeam=Boland | homescore=17 | awayscore=21 | awayteam=SWD Eagles | matchdate=28 June 2014 | date=27 July 2016}} before making his first start against the {{Rut|Falcons}}.{{SA Rugby Match Centre | id=135064 | homeid=23054 | awayid=23024 | leagueid=2154 | hometeam=Valke | homescore=20 | awayscore=35 | awayteam=Boland Cavaliers | matchdate=5 July 2014 | date=27 July 2016}} Boland eventually finished fifth in the qualification competition and therefore consigned to a season in the Currie Cup First Division, with Fraser making a further five appearances in that competition as Boland finished fifth to miss out on a semi-final spot.
