Jason Thornberry (born 1971) is an American writer and musician. His tenure with the Southern California alternative-punk group Mulch saw them perform 200 times in two years as an unsigned band. In 1999, The Pressure was readying the release of their debut album Things Move Fast, when Thornberry was discovered in a coma after being beaten nearly to death.{{cite web |url=http://www.skaparade.com/news1.html |title=Ska Parade Homepage News |website=Skaparade.com |accessdate=15 May 2011 |archive-date=5 April 2011 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110405080708/http://www.skaparade.com/news1.html |url-status=dead }}{{Cite web |date=6 June 2002 |title=Orange County |url=http://www.ocweekly.com/content/printVersion/38226/ |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120929204457/http://www.ocweekly.com/content/printVersion/38226/ |archive-date=29 September 2012 |access-date=15 May 2011 |website=Ocweekly.com}} Four months later, he was released in a wheelchair. Within a year he was walking again, and Thornberry had begun to document the experience. He continued to see therapists, having also temporarily lost the ability to speak, or to use the left side of his body, as a result of the assault.{{Cite web |last=Rich Kane |date=2 September 1999 |title=Life Moves Fast – Page 2 – Music – Orange County |url=http://www.ocweekly.com/1999-09-09/music/life-moves-fast/2/ |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110807063432/https://www.ocweekly.com/1999-09-09/music/life-moves-fast/2/ |archive-date=7 August 2011 |access-date=15 May 2011 |website=Ocweekly.com}}
