Fluoridation

Woodforth was quoted by the Courier Mail{{cite news |url=http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/jason-woodforth-gets-the-drill-on-fluoride-sniping/story-e6freoof-1226533208088 |accessdate=8 May 2016 |title=Jason Woodforth gets the drill on fluoride sniping |author=Robyn Ironside |newspaper=The Courier-Mail |date=10 December 2012 |publisher=News Corp}} as being in support of ceasing fluoridation of the Queensland water supply. This was at odds with Woodforth's maiden speech, where he was concerned by rising health care costs in Australia.{{cite web |url=http://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/documents/members/InauguralSpeech/wood2012_05_31_58.pdf |accessdate=8 May 2016 |work=Hansard |date=31 May 2012 |author=Jason Woodforth |title=MAIDEN SPEECH |publisher=Government of Queensland}} He has been disciplined by prominent Queensland LNP member and former dentist John-Paul Langbroek for these comments, as well as receiving a critical editorial from the Courier Mail. Andrew Wong of the Australian Dental Association agreed with ABC AM interviewer Annie Guest that the LNP was possibly appeasing an "uninformed minority".{{cite news |url=http://www.abc.net.au/am/content/2012/s3651665.htm |accessdate=8 May 2016 |title=Queensland under fire over fluoridation |author=Annie Guest |date=11 December 2012 |publisher=ABC Australia|work=AM}} In this interview, Woodforth avoided answering questions regarding his lack of formal education he had in health care, by stating "What I say to people is you actually don't need letters after your name to work out what's right and what's wrong".
