=Gym collapse=
On May 2, 2011, the main gym collapsed due to a buildup of rainwater on the roof, causing the school to be temporarily closed. The school used the Cabby O'Neill Gymnasium, located near the courthouse on 6th street, Jasper, as a temporary replacement while a new gymnasium was built.{{cite news|last=Eckerle|first=Greg|url=http://www.courierpress.com/news/2011/sep/05/no-headline---ev_jasper_gym/|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20140226101737/http://www.courierpress.com/news/2011/sep/05/no-headline---ev_jasper_gym/|archive-date=February 26, 2014|title=Jasper thankful for old gym during rebuilding process|date=September 5, 2011|access-date=4 February 2014|url-status=live}} This was the first time the Cabby O’Neill had hosted Jasper High School athletic events since 1977.{{cite web|title=Historic high school basketball arenas |url=http://www.indianalandmarks.org/NewsPhotos/Pages/WhereWeLiveArticle.aspx?NewsID=701 |work=January 30, 2012 |access-date=4 February 2014 |url-status=dead |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20140222145148/http://www.indianalandmarks.org/NewsPhotos/Pages/WhereWeLiveArticle.aspx?NewsID=701 |archive-date=22 February 2014 }} The school rebuilt the gymnasium and an open house and dedication ceremony was held on September 20, 2013.{{cite news|last=Raths|first=Bradford|url=http://dcbroadcasting.com/2013/09/greater-jasper-schools-hold-gym-ribbon-cutting/|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20140222023509/http://dcbroadcasting.com/2013/09/greater-jasper-schools-hold-gym-ribbon-cutting/|archive-date=February 22, 2014|title=Greater Jasper Schools Holds Gym Ribbon Cutting|date=September 23, 2013|newspaper=DC Broadcasting|access-date=4 February 2014|url-status=live}} The new gymnasium has a seating capacity of 4,800.{{cite web|title=Student Handbook, 2013-2014|url=http://www.gjcs.k12.in.us/Portals/1/Documents/Handbook%2020132014.pdf|publisher=Jasper High School|access-date=4 February 2014|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20140222025044/http://www.gjcs.k12.in.us/Portals/1/Documents/Handbook%2020132014.pdf|archive-date=22 February 2014|url-status=dead}}

The baseball team won its first of six state championships, and three in a row, in 1996 after beating Merrillville, 13-6, at Bush Stadium in Indianapolis. The following year, and the final of the single class system, Jasper won another championship after defeating Carmel, 10-8, at Victory Field, home of the Indianapolis Indians, Triple A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1998, for the third straight year, Jasper's baseball team beat Westfield in the 3A title game, 11-2.
The 4th baseball championship was won in 2000 when the Wildcats routed Plymouth High School, 10-3. Most recently, the 2006 baseball team (34-1) defeated Norwell 13-12.
Since 2006, the Wildcats have returned to Victory Field three times but have come up short in all three games losing to Andrean in 2010 and 2015 and Norwell in 2013.{{cite news|last1=Neddenriep|first1=Kyle|title=How did Jasper become the high school baseball capital of Indiana?|url=http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2015/06/18/jasper-become-high-school-baseball-capitol-indiana/28941665/|access-date=26 November 2015|work=Indy Star}}
