Gameplay

Inspired by Agar.io, Jaws.io is a multiplayer game where the goal is pick up or eat (depending on whether the player is controlling a ship or a shark) as much as possible,{{Cite web |url=https://www.gamezebo.com/2019/02/14/jaws-io-guide-tips-cheats-and-strategies/ |title=Jaws.io Guide |last=Fox |first=Glen |date=2019-02-14 |website=Gamezebo |access-date=2019-11-10}} in order to obtain the highest score in time-limited matches.{{Cite web |url=https://screenrant.com/jaws-io-review/ |title=JAWS.io Review: Mindless and Only Slightly Entertaining |last=Burks |first=Robin |date=2019-02-18 |website=Screen Rant |access-date=2019-11-03}} Players would take on the role as the captain of a boat rescuing civilians of Amity Island stranded out at sea. As players sailed around picking up civilians, they were to use power-ups to combat against other boats as well as the titular Jaws.{{Cite web |url=https://www.pocketgamer.com/articles/079974/jaws-io-review/ |title=JAWS.io review - "A weirdly entertaining io game" |last=Mundy |first=Jon |website=Pocket Gamer |date=21 February 2019 |access-date=2019-11-03}} Players would also be given the opportunity to transform into Jaws for a short period in the match to wreak havoc against other opponents. The gameplay used touch controls to maneuver around in a manner similar to that of games found in the .io game genre with comparisons drawn towards Slither.io and Agar.io.{{Cite web |url=https://kotaku.com/an-exciting-game-of-shark-and-boats-1832827761 |title=An Exciting Game of Shark And Boats |last=Zwiezen |first=Zack |website=Kotaku |date=23 February 2019 |access-date=2019-11-03}}

The players were able to receive rewards for logging in each day, and coins collected in each play could have been used for certain shark upgrades.{{Cite web |url=https://www.pressreader.com/uk/icreate-uk/20191010/285297504082316 |title=Jaws.io |date=2019-10-10 |website=ICreate |access-date=2019-11-10}}
