History
In October 1998, Info Edge launched Jeevansathi.com, offering free services in the initial years. In 2000, when Info Edge was about to raise venture capital from ICICI Ventures, the latter suggested discontinuing Jeevansathi.com to focus on Naukri.com. As a result, Info Edge sold the website to its auditors, Amit and Rohit Tandon, while Info Edge founder and vice chairman Sanjeev Bikhchandani kept a 35% stake.{{cite news|title=Info Edge's Sanjeev Bikhchandani shares his slip-ups on the path to success|url=http://businesstoday.intoday.in/story/info-edge-sanjeev-bikhchandani-on-slip-ups-suceess/1/205528.html|work=businesstoday.intoday.in/|accessdate=24 April 2014|archive-date=4 May 2014|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20140504004835/http://businesstoday.intoday.in/story/info-edge-sanjeev-bikhchandani-on-slip-ups-suceess/1/205528.html|url-status=live}}
