History
In 2020, Jewish on Campus was co-created by Jewish college students, Isaac de Castro, Julia Jassey, and Sylvie S. as an Instagram page meant to bring awareness to individual incidents of antisemitism on college campuses.{{Cite web|title=ADL In Concert Against Hate Honors Leaders Fighting Antisemitism and Racism|url=https://www.adl.org/news/press-releases/adl-in-concert-against-hate-honors-leaders-fighting-antisemitism-and-racism|access-date=2021-12-16|website=Anti-Defamation League|language=en}}{{Cite web|last=Greschler|first=Gabriel|title=Instagram account shares anonymous stories of Jew-hatred on US college campuses|url=https://www.timesofisrael.com/instagram-account-shares-anonymous-stories-of-jew-hatred-on-us-college-campuses/|access-date=2021-12-16|website=www.timesofisrael.com|language=en-US}} However, after online popularity, it transformed into a nonprofit organization. As an organization, Jewish on Campus expanded its work to include a platform for student journalism, data collection and analysis to better understand the state of antisemitism on campuses, and an ambassador program to unify Jewish students across the United States and Canada to make statements representative of American Jewish and Canadian Jewish students.{{Cite web|last=Algemeiner|first=The|title=Student-Led Jewish Advocacy Group Shares Data on Hundreds of Campus Experiences With Antisemitism|url=https://www.algemeiner.com/2021/06/30/student-led-jewish-advocacy-group-shares-data-on-hundreds-of-campus-experiences-with-antisemitism/|access-date=2021-12-16|website=Algemeiner.com|language=en-US}}{{Cite web|title=Antisemitism growing on US college campuses - survey|url=https://www.jpost.com/diaspora/antisemitism/antisemitism-growing-at-us-college-campuses-survey-678196|access-date=2021-12-16|website=The Jerusalem Post |date=August 31, 2021 |language=en-US}}
