Jhala (Hindi: झाला, {{IPA|hns|dʒʱaːla|}}) is a term in Hindustani classical music which denotes the fast-paced conclusions of classical compositions or raga. It is often characterized by the overwhelming of the melodic component by the rhythmic component. This is sometimes affected by the rapid striking together of the chikari between notes.{{cite book|author=Vimalakānta Rôya Caudhurī|title=The Dictionary Of Hindustani Classical Music|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=gQWLa--IHjIC&pg=PA50|access-date=14 July 2013|year=2000|publisher=Motilal Banarsidass|isbn=978-81-208-1708-1|pages=50–}}{{cite book|author=Ashok Damodar Ranade|title=Music Contexts: A Concise Dictionary of Hindustani Music|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=cFwbGi3oBHgC&pg=PA152|access-date=14 July 2013|date=1 January 2006|publisher=Bibliophile South Asia|isbn=978-81-85002-63-7|pages=152–}}Kamien, Roger, and Anita Kamien.
