James Birrell Mackay (19 December 1943 – 11 December 1998{{cite web |url=http://www.planetworldcup.com/CUPS/1974/groupa_ger_v_aus.html |title=1974 - Group A - West Germany v Australia match report |access-date=2009-01-28 |date=1974-06-18}}) was a Scottish-born Australian soccer player.
He was a member of the Australian 1974 World Cup squad in West Germany.
