Playing career
Growing up in Luleå, in northern Sweden, Fällman often played on boys' teams in her youth. She has spoken out openly about having faced misogynistic abuse from boys she played with in the league.{{Cite web|last=Rönnkvist|first=Ronnie|date=2017-12-29|title=Ishockeyns #MeToo: "Hockey känns flera steg efter resten av samhället och idrottssverige"|url=https://hockeysverige.se/2017/12/29/ishockeyns-metoo-2|access-date=2020-11-13|website=HockeySverige|language=sv|archive-date=15 November 2020|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20201115021348/https://hockeysverige.se/2017/12/29/ishockeyns-metoo-2|url-status=live}}{{Cite web|last=Tolén|first=Martin|date=2016-11-30|title="Då brann det till – det blev slagsmål"|url=https://www.aftonbladet.se/a/oRejJW|access-date=2020-11-13|website=Aftonbladet|language=sv}}
She began her Riksserien career with Skellefteå AIK, scoring 2 points in 12 games in the league's debut season. From 2008 to 2012, she played for Modo Hockey, winning the Riksserien championship in the 2011–12 season.
Ahead of the 2012–13 season, she turned down an offer from Munksund-Skuthamns SK to move to North America, joining the University of North Dakota.{{cite web|last=Lindvall|first=Peter|date=2012-08-16|title=Fällman klar för spel på college i USA|url=http://www.nsd.se/sport/fallman-klar-for-spel-pa-college-i-usa-7085594.aspx|accessdate=2015-03-29|website=Norrländska Socialdemokraten|archive-date=13 February 2016|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160213143709/http://www.nsd.se/sport/fallman-klar-for-spel-pa-college-i-usa-7085594.aspx|url-status=live}} Across three years in the NCAA, she scored 8 points in 66 games.
In 2015, she returned to Sweden to sign with Luleå HF/MSSK in her hometown, being named an assistant captain for the club ahead of the 2015–16 season.{{Cite web|last=Rönnkvist|first=Ronnie|date=2016-05-14|title=En Luleå-hemkomst med guldsmak: "Var helt fantastiskt"|url=https://hockeysverige.se/2016/05/14/en-lulea-hemkomst-med-guldsmak-var-helt-fantastiskt|access-date=2020-11-13|website=HockeySverige|language=sv|archive-date=17 November 2020|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20201117014703/https://hockeysverige.se/2016/05/14/en-lulea-hemkomst-med-guldsmak-var-helt-fantastiskt|url-status=live}} She scored 16 points in 33 games that year, as Luleå won the SDHL championship for the first time.
In January 2019, she picked up a Gordie Howe hat-trick in a 14–0 victory over Göteborg HC, a rare event in women's hockey, after getting into a fight with Anna Borgfeldt.{{Cite web|last=Jervis|first=Adrian|date=2019-01-21|title=Hotting up in the SDHL - Goals and a Gordie Howe hat-trick!|url=https://sportbloggare.com/a-brit-on-thin-ice/johanna-faellman-performs-a-gordie-howe-hattrick|access-date=2020-11-13|website=SportBloggare}}
