Priaulx was educated at Merton College, Oxford.[https://www.british-history.ac.uk/alumni-oxon/1500-1714/pp1181-1208 Alumni Oxonienses 1500-1714, Popham-Price] He held the livings at Fovant, Long Newnton and Berwick St John, all (at that time) in Wiltshire.
