John Talabot

After initially producing tracks under the name d.a.r.y.l,{{cite web|url=https://www.spin.com/2013/11/john-talabot-dj-kicks-essential/|title=John Talabot's Extraordinary 'DJ-Kicks' Entry Is a Love Letter to the Warm-Up Set|date=16 November 2013|website=Spin}} Riverola began releasing music as John Talabot in 2009 (a name taken from the school he attended in Barcelona{{cite web|url=http://www.johntalabot.com/who-we-are/who-was-sir-john-talabot.html|title=Who was Sir John Talabot? - John Talabot|website=www.johntalabot.com}}). His 2010 release "Sunshine" was followed by his debut EP, Families in 2011 on the Young Turks label.

Talabot released his debut album ƒIN in January 2012 on Permanent Vacation. The record was generally well received with critics, receiving a 5 star review from The Guardian.{{cite web|url=https://www.theguardian.com/music/2012/jan/26/john-talabot-fin-cd-review|title=John Talabot:fin|work=The Guardian|date=26 January 2012}}

Despite not releasing a solo album since ƒIN, Talabot has released music consistently including remixes of artists from The XX to Sfire to Shit Robot. In social media posts Talabot has hinted that work is ongoing for his second LP.

The Hivern label was founded by Riverola in 2008, the name coming from the Catalan word for "winter".{{cite web|url=https://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/lectures/john-talabot-everybody-loves-the-sunshine|title=John Talabot|website=www.redbullmusicacademy.com}} The label has released work from artists including Pional, Marvin & Guy, Margot and John Talabot himself.{{cite web|url=https://www.residentadvisor.net/record-label.aspx?id=2519|title=RA: Hivern Discs - Record Label|website=Resident Advisor}} Consistent releases on the label as well as showcase events around Europe have helped establish Hivern as an influential body on the European electronic music scene.

Following the success of the ƒIN album Riverola established himself on the international DJ circuit. John Talabot has been involved in a number of side projects teaming up with Mark Piñol under the name "Quentin",{{cite web|url=https://www.residentadvisor.net/news/36666|title=John Talabot and Marc Piñol are Quentin on new Hivern Discs EP|website=Resident Advisor}} with long time collaborator Pional as "Lost Scripts",{{cite web|url=https://www.residentadvisor.net/reviews/19631|title=Review: Lost Scripts - S.O.P. / A.F.K.|website=Resident Advisor}} with other members of the Hivern Label as "Parple" and most notably with Swedish producer Axel Boman for "Talaboman". The latter originating from a track, "Sideral" {{cite web|url=https://www.residentadvisor.net/reviews/15398|title=Review: Talaboman - Sideral|website=Resident Advisor}} the two produced for Talabot's 2014 DJ Kicks mix.
