Jon Mun-sop (November 24, 1919 – December 29, 1998{{Cite web |script-title=ko:김영일(남성) |work=nkinfo.unikorea.go.kr |access-date=7 April 2020 |url= https://nkinfo.unikorea.go.kr/nkp/theme/viewPeople.do?nkpmno=5393 |language=ko }}) was a North Korean politician, member of the Supreme People's Assembly, the unicameral parliament of North Korea.
Biography
Jon was born in Manchuria on November 24, 1919.{{cite book|title=North Korea Handbook|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=JIlh9nNeadMC&pg=PA800|year=2002|publisher=Yonhap News Agency|location=Seoul|isbn=978-0-7656-3523-5|page=800}} He took part in the armed struggle against the Japanese colonial rule in Korea{{cite web | url=https://www.ncnk.org/sites/default/files/content/resources/publications/KJU_Speeches_7th_Congress.pdf| title=Documents from the 7th Workers' Party Congress |accessdate=2020-04-06|language=en}} at age 18. With the establishment of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and became a vice Minister of Public Safety in 1963, chairman of the Control Committee in 1972 and a party Politburo member in 1976.{{cite web | url=https://www.thefreelibrary.com/Senior+N.+Korean+lawmaker+Jon+Mun+Sop+dies+at+79.-a053537234| title=Senior N. He was Honorable one of four Vice Presidents of the Presidium of the 10th convocation of the Supreme People's Assembly.
