Joseph Laben Hiram (born 10 March 1943) is a retired Nauruan public servant and politician.
Biography
Hiram was born on 10 March 1943. He studied at Gordon Institute in Geelong, Victoria in Australia. When Nauru gained independence in 1968, Hiram lived in Melbourne and was working for the British Phosphate Commissioners as a junior mechanical engineer. Hiram worked for the Nauruan government for 40 years. At some point, Hiram had served as a mechanical engineer for RONPhos and as Nauru's director of civil aviation. Hiram has unsuccessfully ran to represent the Ubenide Constituency in the Parliament of Nauru several times.
