Levs has spent more than 10 years at CNN, reporting across all platforms and networks.
When Levs requested extended paid parental leave from CNN's parent company Time Warner in August 2013, he was denied anything more than the two weeks of paid leave for biological fathers—much less than 10 weeks paid leave that were provided for women and for men who had babies through adoption or surrogacy. Levs used his two paid weeks, and additionally vacation and sick days as he cared for his three children and wife, who had developed severe preeclampsia. Levs filed a charge with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against Time Warner demanding equitable paid paternity leave, essentially winning the claim a year later.{{cite web|last1=O'Neill |first1=Jennifer |title=Meet the Man Who Sued His Boss to Spend More Time With His Kids |url=https://www.yahoo.com/parenting/meet-the-man-who-sued-his-boss-to-spend-more-time-112737108717.html |publisher=Yahoo Parenting |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20150402233513/https://www.yahoo.com/parenting/meet-the-man-who-sued-his-boss-to-spend-more-time-112737108717.html |archivedate=April 2, 2015 |date=March 5, 2015 |url-status=dead }}{{cite news|title=Male CNN reporter sues over  parental leave policy|url=http://www.today.com/video/today/53520438#53520438|accessdate=28 April 2015|publisher=The Today Show|date=11 November 2011}}{{cite news|last1=Kim|first1=Susanna|title=Home> Money CNN Reporter Accuses Time Warner of Discriminating Against Biological Dads|url=https://abcnews.go.com/Business/time-warner-accused-refusing-longer-paid-family-leave/story?id=20757792|accessdate=28 April 2015|agency=Good Morning America|publisher=ABC|date=2 November 2013}}{{cite news|last1=Bernard|first1=Tara Siegel|title=Standing Up for the Rights of New Fathers|url=https://www.nytimes.com/2013/11/09/your-money/standing-up-for-the-rights-of-new-fathers.html?_r=0|accessdate=28 April 2015|newspaper=New York Times|date=8 November 2013}}
