It was operated by Midnight Sun Broadcasting Company.{{cite news|title=New Alaska Station, KENI, Starts May 2|url=http://www.americanradiohistory.com/Archive-BC/BC-1948/1948-04-26-BC.pdf|access-date=November 29, 2014|agency=Broadcasting|date=April 26, 1948}} The Callsign & intellectual property moved to 650 kHz in March 1998. In August 1995, the station, as KYAK, was the Anchorage affiliate of the Radio AAHS children's format.{{Clarify|date=September 2011|reason=KYAK shared the dial with...KENI.
