Kaka Nayaka was the legendary leader of the forest dwelling Jenu Kuruba people,[http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/tp-national/tp-karnataka/%60Kakana-Kote-as-a-tribute-to-Lokesh/article14764556.ece 'Kakana Kote' as a tribute to Lokesh] after whom the present-day Kakanakote forest is named.
