In August 2020, the creators of the first live-action movie shared that a sequel is in the works, scheduled for a 2021 release in Japan. the upcoming installment will see the return of the previous cast members. Tsutomu Hanabusa was set to direct the film once again and collaborate on the screenplay, along with Minato Takano.
