Kalynopil ({{Langx|uk|Калинопіль}}), formerly known as Katerynopil ({{langx|uk|Катеринопіль|links=no}}) is a rural settlement in Zvenyhorodka Raion, Cherkasy Oblast, central Ukraine. History
Until 1795 it was a village and later a miasteczko of Kalnebłota, Kalnebłoto ({{langx|uk|Калниболото|Kalnyboloto}}), {{cite web|title=History of our village|url=http://www.katerynopil.com.ua/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=87&Itemid=58|archive-url=https://archive.today/20130419080705/http://www.katerynopil.com.ua/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=87&Itemid=58|url-status=dead|archive-date=19 April 2013|work=Informational-reference site of Katerynopil village|accessdate=12 January 2012|language=Ukrainian}} and after parts of Poland were incorporated into the Russian Empire, in 1797 it was renamed Yekaterinopol ({{langx|ru|Екатеринополь}}) after the Russian tsarina Catherine the Great.[http://dir.icm.edu.pl/pl/Slownik_geograficzny/Tom_II/320 p. 320]
Until 18 July 2020, Katerynopil served as an administrative center of Katerynopil Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Cherkasy Oblast to four. The area of Katerynopil Raion was merged into Zvenyhorodka Raion.{{Cite news|title=Про утворення та ліквідацію районів. Until 26 January 2024, Katerynopil was designated urban-type settlement. Archaeologists have found remains of the ancient Trypillya culture on the territory of Katerynopil. During the Khmelnytsky Uprising in 1648–1654, Kalnyboloto was a sotnia town of the Korsun Cossack host.{{cite web|title=Urban-type settlement of Katerynopil|url=http://who-is-who.com.ua/bookmaket/mischerkasy2007/2/37.html|work=Cities and villages of Ukraine.
