Kamran Shirdel ({{langx|fa|کامران شیردل}}; born 21 June 1939) is an Iranian filmmaker and documentarist.

Biography

Kamran Shirdel was born on 21 June 1939 in Tehran.{{Cite web|date=2020-12-21|title=Cinema Verite commemorates Kamran Shirdel|url=https://en.mehrnews.com/news/167463/Cinema-Verite-commemorates-Kamran-Shirdel|access-date=2021-06-20|website=Mehr News Agency|language=en}} He studied architecture and urbanism at the University of Rome (now Sapienza University of Rome) and film direction at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia of Rome, graduating in 1964. He worked as an assistant director with John Huston on The Bible before making his diploma film, Gli Specchi (The Mirrors), in Rome. Since January 2000, Shirdel is the founder and director of the Kish International Documentary Film Festival which is held annually in the January in Kish Island in the Persian Gulf.{{Cite web|title=Kamran Shirdel Spotlight|url=https://www.docunight.com/kamran-shirdel-spotlight|access-date=2021-06-20|website=Docunight|language=en}} He is also the managing director of Filmgrafic Co.
