Karbala Governorate ({{langx|ar|محافظة كربلاء}}, Muḥāfażat Karbalāʾ) is a governorate in central Iraq. Its administrative center is the city of Karbala, a holy city for Shia Muslims for housing the shrine of the revered Imam Hussein.
