Biography
Bennani was born in Fez on 2 January 1936.{{cite web|url=https://www.oxfordartonline.com/benezit/display/10.1093/benz/9780199773787.001.0001/acref-9780199773787-e-00016432|title=Bennani, Karim|work=Benezit Dictionary of Artists}} He initially pursued commercial studies before leaving in 1951 to attend the Académie des arts de Fès.{{cite news|last=|first=|date=11 February 2014|title=Rétrospective de l'œuvre de Karim Bennani|trans-title=|url=https://lematin.ma/journal/-/196588.html|language=French|work=Le Matin|location=|access-date=3 January 2023|archive-date=4 January 2023|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20230104035614/https://lematin.ma/journal/-/196588.html|url-status=live}} In 1954, he enrolled in the Beaux-Arts de Paris and also studied at the Académie Julian. In 1957, he exhibited his works at the Galerie du Bac in Paris and was invited to the Biennale d'Alexandrie. In 1967, he exhibited at the Galerie Charpentier in Paris.
