Karine Deshayes ({{IPA|fr|ka.ʁin de.ɛ|lang}}; born 25 January 1973)ODB-Opéra (2005) "... j'ai vu que la création avait eu lieu un 25 janvier, et c'est ma date de naissance !" is a French mezzo-soprano. She is noted for her interpretations of bel canto roles (principally Rossini and Bellini). Biography
Deshayes was born in Rueil-Malmaison.{{Cite web|title=Karine Deshayes|url=https://www.francemusique.fr/personne/karine-deshayes|access-date=2021-09-12|website=France Musique}} She studied musicology at the Sorbonne, then singing with Mireille Alcantara at the Conservatoire de Paris,ODB-Opéra (2005) in which she later also specialized in baroque music under Emmanuelle Haïm. She also attended masterclasses of her mentor Régine Crespin. In February 2011, she debuted in the role of Urbain in Les Huguenots at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
