Career

Born in Dublin, Moore began his career at his local side St Kevins Boys.{{citation needed|date=October 2021}} At the age of 16 he joined Manchester City.{{Cite news|url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59045112|title='Talent alone doesn't get you to the top'|work=BBC Sport }} At Manchester City he lived with Micah Richards.

Moore was part of the Manchester City youth side beaten 3–2 by Liverpool in the final of the FA Youth Cup in 2006. On 29 August 2008, he went out on loan from Manchester City to Millwall until January 2009{{cite news| url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/millwall/7588369.stm| title=Millwall get Man City man on loan| work=BBC Sport| publisher=British Broadcasting Corporation| date=29 August 2008| accessdate=3 February 2011}} and made his début for the London club the very next day in Millwall's 2–1 home win against Huddersfield Town. He went on to make a total of nine appearances for the Lions during his loan spell there.

On 8 June 2010, Moore was released along with Martin Petrov, Sylvinho, Jack Redshaw and Benjani.{{cite web| url=http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/2010/June/Out-of-contract-trio-leave-Blues| title=Out of contract trio leave Blues| work=mcfc.co.uk| publisher=(Manchester City Football Club)| date=8 June 2010| accessdate=3 February 2011| archive-date=29 May 2016| archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160529101133/http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/2010/June/Out-of-contract-trio-leave-Blues| url-status=dead}}{{cite news| url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/8728341.stm| title=Petrov, Sylvinho and Benjani to leave Manchester City| work=BBC Sport| publisher=British Broadcasting Corporation| date=8 June 2010| accessdate=3 February 2011}}

In August that year, Moore returned home to join UCD in a bid to regain fitness and match sharpness as he stepped up his return from injury. Moore made his League of Ireland debut for UCD AFC in a game against Sligo Rovers as a late substitute{{cite web| url=http://www.ucdsoccer.com/airtricity-league/premier-division/825-sligo-ro| title=Sligo Rovers 4–0 UCD AFC| publisher=UCD AFC| date=15 August 2010| accessdate=3 February 2011}} and soon became a regular with the students. Moore left UCD AFC at the end of the 2010 season, despite being asked to stay on.

In February 2011 Moore signed a one-year deal with Connacht outfit Galway United, although there was also interest from several other League of Ireland clubs.{{cite web |url = http://www.galwayunitedfc.ie/four-more-sign-for-united |title = Four more sign for United |work = galwayunitedfc.ie |publisher = (Galway United Football Club) |date = 21 February 2011 |accessdate = 23 February 2011 |url-status = dead |archiveurl = https://web.archive.org/web/20110224042747/http://www.galwayunitedfc.ie/four-more-sign-for-united |archivedate = 24 February 2011 |df = dmy-all}}

It was rumoured, on 12 June 2011, that Moore may make a return to British football, with SPL club Motherwell understood to be leading the chase for his signature.{{cite web| url=http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11796_6986198,00.html| title=Well eye winger swoop| work=skysports.com| publisher=Sky Sports| date=12 June 2011| accessdate=12 June 2011}}

However, on 3 August, it was announced that Moore had signed for Airtricity League Champions, Shamrock Rovers, after leaving Galway United due to financial troubles at the club.https://web.archive.org/web/20120405014834/http://www.shamrockrovers.ie/news/35-news/2086-hoops-sign-karl-moore Hoops sign Karl Moore
