The company produces a range of organic chemistry products including ethylene, polyethylene, ethylene oxide, phenol, acetone, and polyethylene pipes. The company was founded in the 1950s under the government of the Soviet Union as Kazan Chemical Plant. On 14 January 2025, during the Russo-Ukrainian War, Ukraine launched a drone attack on the Kazan Orgsintez chemical plant in Tatarstan, about {{cvt|1000|km|mi}} from the border with Ukraine, causing a series of explosions and fires in three liquified natural gas (LNG) storage tanks.
