{{BLP unsourced section|date=May 2024}}

Although a native of Delta State, Nigeria, Ikeduba was born in Ebute-Meta in Lagos State. He is from a family of six—four children, two males, two females, a mother, and a father—of which he is the first born child. Ikeduba was raised on Olokodana Street in Ebute-Metta in Lagos State until adulthood.

Education

Ikeduba received both primary and secondary school education in Lagos State, but, in bid to obtain a university degree, he relocated to Benin city, a southern geopolitical zone of Nigeria where he applied to the University of Benin to study economics. Ikeduba eventually graduated from there with a B.Sc. degree in economics.{{Cite web|url=https://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/06/have-sex-on-set-surely-kelvin-ikeduba/|title=Have sex on set ? Career

In an interview with Vanguard, a Nigerian print media press, Ikeduba stated that he debuted in the Nigerian movie industry in the year 2000. He described his venture into the Nigerian movie industry as a coincidence as he initially only wanted to accompany a friend to an audition for actors. On reaching their destination he decided to participate in the audition and was successful as he was called back and given a movie role. Ikeduba's ability to understand and communicate in all three major languages in Nigeria has been pivotal to his career, a fact he has acknowledged and spoken about.{{Cite web|url=https://theinterview.ng/2019/01/12/my-relationship-with-female-fans-kelvin-ikeduba/|title=My Relationship With Female Fans – Kelvin Ikeduba – TheInterview Nigeria|website=theinterview.ng|date=12 January 2019 |access-date=16 December 2019}} Ikeduba initially debuted in the English language-only conventional and mainstream Nigerian movie industry known commonly as Nollywood but eventually crossed over to the Yoruba movie industry.{{Cite web|last=Bodunrin|first=Sola|date=29 March 2016|title=14 Top Yoruba actors you never knew are not Yoruba|url=https://www.legit.ng/781189-14-top-yoruba-actors-never-knew-not-yoruba.html|access-date=16 December 2019|website=www.legit.ng|language=en}}{{Cite web|last=Olubajo|first=Oyindamola|date=30 November 2019|title=Popular Non-Yoruba Actors Making Waves In Yoruba Movie Industry|url=https://www.concise.ng/2019/11/30/popular-non-yoruba-actors-making-waves-in-yoruba-movie-industry/|access-date=16 December 2019|website=Concise News|language=en-US|archive-date=16 December 2019|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20191216222557/https://www.concise.ng/2019/11/30/popular-non-yoruba-actors-making-waves-in-yoruba-movie-industry/|url-status=dead}}{{Cite web |last=Lawal |first=Babatunde |date=2022-06-21 |title=5 popular Yoruba Actors who are not Yoruba ethnically |url=https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/movies/5-popular-yoruba-actors-who-are-not-yoruba-ethnically/4r7jbz0 |access-date=2022-07-18 |website=Pulse Nigeria |language=en}} in Nigeria with the help of Femi Ogedengbe who introduced him to Saheed Balogun who gave him a movie role in a Yoruba movie he was producing titled Omo Alhaja.

Ikeduba has been stereotyped in the Nigerian movie industry as a “Bad Boy” which he attributed to his appearance. Hence in almost all the movies he has featured in, he was always the antagonist or as the Nigerian media puts it “The Bad Boy”.{{Cite web|last=Ajose|first=Kehinde|date=12 January 2018|title=Playing bad boy roles, doesn't mean I am a bad person-Kelvin Ikeduba|url=https://www.thenewsguru.com/entertainment/article/playing-bad-boy-roles-doesnt-mean-bad-person-kelvin-ikeduba/|access-date=16 December 2019|website=TheNewsGuru|language=en-GB}}{{Cite web|title=Kevin Ikeduba calls out actors in Nollywood on living fake life|url=https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/celebrities/kevin-ikeduba-calls-out-actors-in-nollywood-on-living-fake-life/lczxqs7.amp|access-date=16 December 2019|website=www.pulse.ng}}{{Cite web|last=Live|first=PM NEWS|date=14 January 2011|title=I'm Not A Bad Boy –Ikeduba|url=https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/01/14/i%e2%80%99m-not-a-bad-boy-%e2%80%94ikeduba/|access-date=16 December 2019|website=P.M.
