The tournament was organised by the Keswick Lawn Tennis Club, and played at Fitz Park, Keswick, Cumbria, England. It was played annually until 1967.

History

In August 1889 the Keswick Open was first held for the first time.{{cite web|title=Tournaments:Keswick Open|url=https://thetennisbase.com/tournaments/ |website=The Tennis Base |publisher=Tennismem SL |access-date=July 26, 2023|url-access=subscription}} The tournament was organised by the Keswick Lawn Tennis Club, and played at Fitz Park, Keswick, Cumbria, England. It was held annually until 1910 when it was discontinued as part of the LTA Circuit.

In 1934 the Keswick Lawn Tennis Club established a new successor event called the Lakeland Open that was also played at Fitz Park, but this time on hard clay courts, that event ran until 1939,{{cite news |title=RUMANIANS AT KESWICK: The fifth Lakeland Open lawn tennis tournament opened yesterday Keswick. In 1941 the tournament was revived under a new name the Keswick Open Hard Courts tournament.
