Background information
Khazar University was founded in March 1991 by Hamlet Isakhanli.{{Cite web|url=https://apa.az/en/xeber/social-news/-130431|title = Hamlet Isakhanli resigns from post of Khazar University's rector}} The university became one of the first private universities in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia and the first in Azerbaijan to introduce Western-style, research-oriented higher education.
