Kim Liên is a large village and commune in the Nam Đàn District of Nghệ An Province in Vietnam. Kim Lien is the childhood home of former president Ho Chi Minh and his parents' house there is the site of the Kim Liên museum.Lonely Planet Vietnam Nick Ray, Yu-Mei Balasingamchow, Iain Stewart 2009 p202 The village is also called Làng Sen.The Vietnam review 1996 p 430 "In a 1968 letter to Ninh Viết Giao, Vuang Thúc Oánh, a nephew of Vuong Thúc Luang's and Phan's son-in-law, notes that the play was first performed in a village named Làng Sen (also known as Kim Liên, Ho Chi Minh's birthplace) the year following"

The name of the village means "Gold-Lilly", and the district "South-Sandalwood" in Sino-Vietnamese characters (, ).
