Geography
The Gore Highway passes through from north-east (Bulli Creek) to south-west (Wyaga).{{Queensland Globe|access-date=2 October 2023}}
The southern and central parts of the locality are within the Whetstone State Forest, but otherwise the predominant land use is a mixture of crop growing and grazing on native vegetation.
History
Kindon State School was opened on 29 January 1963 by Eddie Beardmore, the Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly for Balonne.{{Citation|author1=Queensland Family History Society|title=Queensland schools past and present|publication-date=2010|edition=Version 1.01|publisher=Queensland Family History Society|isbn=978-1-921171-26-0}} He said "Here in this little school is the real wealth of your district - for education is a priceless asset."
