Kjell Venås

Kjell Venås (30 November 1927 – 7 March 2018) was a Norwegian philologist.
He was born in Hemsedal,{{cite encyclopedia|year=|title=Geir Grung|encyclopedia=Norsk biografisk leksikon|first=Jarle|last=Bondevik|authorlink=Jarle Bondevik|volume=|editor=Helle, Knut|publisher=Kunnskapsforlaget|location=Oslo|url=http://www.snl.no/.nbl_biografi/Kjell_Ven%C3%A5s/utdypning|language=Norwegian|accessdate=7 March 2009}} and took his dr.philos. degree in 1967. He spent most of his career at the University of Oslo; as a lecturer from 1970 to 1971 and professor from 1971 to 1997.
