Kudayathoor is a village in Idukki district{{cite web | url=http://idukki.nic.in/revenue.htm | title=Idukki District of Kerala - an official website }} which is located along the Thodupuzha-Puliyanmala road in the Indian state of Kerala.{{cite web|url=http://www.censusindia.gov.in/Census_Data_2001/Village_Directory/P|title=Census of India : Villages with population 5000 & above|publisher=Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India|accessdate=2008-12-10}} Kudayathoor is known for its scenery mostly because of the towering presence of Western ghats on one side.{{fact|date=November 2023}} A number of Malayalam films have also been shot in this area, including Kunjikoonan, Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum, Vismayathumbathu, Drishyam, Kadha Parayumbol, Rasathanthram, Aadu, and Vellimoonga. Malankara dam, which is a hydro electric power plant located along Muvattupuzha river, in Muttom, uses this place as its catchment area.
