Kurumbranad

Kurumbranad (Kurumbuzhai Nadu or Kurumbiathiri Swaroopam) was a kingdom, located in present-day Kerala state, South India, on the Malabar Coast.{{cite book |last1=Logan |first1=William |title=Malabar Manual |date=1879 |publisher=Asian Educational Services |location=New Delhi |isbn=978-8120604469 |edition=3rd AES reprint, 2000}} Once a powerful kingdom, it had important commercial centres such as Mapayil, Puthuppanam and Vatakara. The area was bordered by the sea on the west side and Karnataka in the east.
