Länkipohja

Länkipohja ({{IPA|fi|ˈlæŋkiˌpohjɑ}}) is a locality in Jämsä, Finland, located by the lake Längelmävesi. History

The village of Länkipohja was populated in the early 16th century and was mentioned as Lengellmapohia, a transcription of the original name, Längelmäpohja, in 1560. It is known of the 1918 Finnish Civil War Battle of Länkipohja.{{cite web|url=http://encyclopedia.1914-1918-online.net/article/tampere_battle_of|title=Battle of Tampere|author=Jalonen, Jussi|publisher=International Encyclopedia of the First World War|date=8 October 2014|accessdate=8 March 2017|language=}} The Länkipohja railway station was opened in 1948 as the first part of the Orivesi–Jyväskylä railway was completed.
