Lake Italy is a lake in the John Muir Wilderness of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. The lake is accessible via trail over Italy Pass or as an offshoot of the John Muir Trail.{{cite book|author1=Don Lowe|author2=Roberta Lowe|title=The John Muir Trail|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=at7V5by4OlUC&pg=PA32|date=March 2001|publisher=Caxton Press|isbn=978-0-87004-413-7|pages=32–36}} It was named by the USGS because its shape is similar to that of Italy.{{cite book|author=Peter Browning|title=Sierra Nevada Place Names: From Abbot to Zumwalt|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=s9wCc9mTMdEC&pg=PA248|year=2011|publisher=Great West Books|isbn=978-0-944220-23-8|page=123}}
