Production
The design was built by Sino American Yacht Industrial Company, Limited in Taiwan, who completed 200 examples of the design between 1974 and the end of production in 1984.

Design
The Landfall 39 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim. It has a cutter rig, a rounded raked stem, a canoe transom, a keel-mounted rudder controlled by a wheel and a fixed long keel. It displaces {{convert|23500|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} and carries {{convert|8800|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} of ballast.
The boat has a draft of {{convert|5.58|ft|m|abbr=on}} with the standard keel fitted. The boat is fitted with a Nissan-Chrysler diesel engine.
